Static Thought formed in late 1999 out of pure determination to play music. With punk rock bands like The Ramones, The Unseen, Rancid and Sex Pistols in mind, serious practice began in the summer of 2000. Static Thought at that time was Eric Urbach on Guitar and Vocals, Travis Davant on Drums, and Charlie Vincent on Bass and Vocals. Many practices had been held and in August of 2003 the first show took place. At about the same time their first EP, Were Dumb was released and was being sold at shows. Soon after Charlie Vincent left on bass and was replaced by Mike Leon. In 2004 Static Thought had played a multitude of shows and was featured on a bay area punk and hardcore compilation titled, You Sing, I sing, We All Sing for Icing. Static Thought continued to play shows all around the bay area and in 2005 hit the studio to release their first official EP, Outta Control. Soon after the release of, Outta Control Charlie Vincent came back to the band to play rhythm guitar. In late 05 Charlie Vincent left the band and was replaced by Daniel Garcia. Currently Static Thought plays shows all over the bay, and there will be many recordings to come the rest is history!
