Genevapop
AMERICA NORTH: USA:California (CA) Indie
live.jpgGenevapop came alive in Fall of 2009, when five very different individuals decided it had been long enough a detour; that it was time to pursue what's true to our conviction: Music.

An Architect by education but Drummer by vocation, Chris Korbuly's Midwesterner Indie sensibility meets a certain revolution only a first generation Hungarian could possess. Call it intuition, or an extraordinary creative process, Patrick Youtz has just the right phrase to give our music that 80's American Pop shimmer. While Teddy Hose's style and instrumentation brings rhythmic diversity to our work, the melancholy ring to his solos and Shoegaze walls of sound could only come from rainy Seattle or the quiet woods of New York. Gian, born in Italy before moving to Austin, Texas, constantly challenges the norm and serves up classic styles form Jazz to Punk to Rock-and-Roll with a contemporary twist and arrangements that cement the melody and rhythm of our work together. Aish's ultra-multicultural musical sensibility, rooted in Jazz, Punk, Britpop and Hindustani, is only the icing on the cake.

Genevapop's music reflects our individual journeys coming together into one body of work. It would have been much easier to follow the same old paradigm and churn out song after song that sounds the same, but we believe in fundamentally continuing to grow our musicianship with time therefore we have needed to step out of our comfort zones in-studio by experimenting with different media and keeping our material diverse. Outside the studio, we've made sure we put up a show worth every penny and second of time of our audience. We have been lucky to have been appreciated by a diverse and discerning audience in such a short period of time and we hope to continue the trend. We have made people dance.

Ultimately, we enjoy the process of creation, performance and personal growth through our Music.
